How to make 2008 my best year yet
"2007 was a good year making plans and reading about your goals guys, 2008 was definitely a great year, and 2009 will be MY BEST YEAR YET ;)))"
How I did it:
Ok, time to summarize...I must recognize I did not achieve the desired result for all goals, but I had at least some progress. So, my top ten goals were:
1. Improve my skills in web design - I had an experience with constantly digging in misc forums related to web design, and by trying various things which I could apply in my job too, but to be honest I did not get the proper result I wanted to obtain...Maybe I should think about it in the new 2009 year too.
2. Improve my photo-skills (including making photos, light and color theory,Photoshop adjustments)- The description of my progress with this goal is pretty much the same as with goal #1 - I read few useful books and learned a lot new things, but still not exactly the result I wanted...3. Make my own designs and collect them for later time when I will need them - Partial progress. I did few things indeed and put them aside for my own record. But I had some ideas in the summer which I gave up later because I had some troubles and personal problems in the autumn. Maybe I could make those ideas live in 2009...who knows..
4. Stop eating sweety things every single day - I started so perfect with this goal and I get to result eating sweety things (chocolate, cakes, and so on...) only 3-4 days a week. And then when the problems I mentioned in the previous goal came in...pooof...I started eating sweety each single day again :((
5. Build my body according to my expectations - I did my daily exercises perfectly. Maybe this is one of the goals I am really glad I was able to achive. But I did not obtain at 100% the desired result. I think I should check my dietary plans in 2009 as they have a great influence to body too!
6. Learn to hug my Mum- Remember when we discussed my relantionship with my mum at the beginning of 2008...poof...I am finally able not only to hug it but also to exchange kiss on the cheek with her :) If somebody asks me how I achieved it...no idea though..maybe the problem was in my mind and once the blocking was gone I was simply able to do it. Or maybe the time spent in Russia (14 days with my mum and our relatives) helped a lot as we were living again together for 24 hours a day :))
7. Save money instead of spending all of them - I still spent all my money but there was a significant difference...I MADE PLANS WHAT TO SPEND THEM FOR. That means I had to save some of my money for 2-3 months in order to go abroad and I DID IT with great success. Later I said - I need something very expensive which I cannot pay for with my monthly payment only so I had to spend again for 1-2 months and I did it. Later I said to myself - I am not going to take the paycheck and to spend all of it but I will save some for this and this, and this...and I DID IT. WOW!! Well, I still do not have any money put aside in my bank account but at least I learned how to save money at all.
8. Make new friends - This is another one successfull story. I made a lot of new friends in 2008 and I am really happy because of this. However, I do not know why most of them are again from another cities (or even countries) and I still did not meet a lot of people in the city I live now. I think most people know how hard it is to make new relationships in a new place (when you move in).
9. Travel! - Yeah!!! I did it! I travelled a lot this year and I was really happy. We had a chance to buy own car with my boyfriend so it made travelling even easier. :)) Next years' goal....I need to take a drive license as I want to drive too :)))
10. Go abroad at least once - Done! I went to St. Petersburg in June :)))That was from me! Not at all perfect but nice, really nice progress. Also, there are some additional things which I had into my mind but were not in top 10 goals list and I did those things too (i.e. buying an appartment (time to decorate it in 2009 :)), agree with my boyfriend to take a pet at home (I have amazing baby parrot :)), spent a wonderful birthday (IT WAS LIKE IN FAIRYTALES...AWWW),continue my stamps and postcards collections (I met many new swappers mainly on Facebook :)), and so on, and so on...

Lessons & tips: Consistency, monthly reviews and planning are some little secrets to have success :) Lazyness is not good...if you want to give up from something or you think you are not in mood for something at the moment, just think what you are loosing at the minute, second you are thinking this, and how much progress can be made in just 1 month, even week!
