How to renovate an old house
How I did it: Bought books and credit card, then rented all the rooms to roommates to pay for them! :)
How...more like what did I do to fix it:
-installed tubs, toliets, and all appliances
-hired out for breaker box and water heater
-craigslist for clawfoot bathtub
-light fixtures on sale at Lowes
-wood, drywall, paint, paint and more paint from home depot (1 mile down the road)
-1 weeks worth of painting clothes
-3 weed eaters/trimmers
-2 mowers
-2 dewalt cordless drills
-1 miter saw
-3 five gal buckets of interior paint
-35 metal banisters for the staircase
-one wooden staircase railing
-4 interior doors
-washer/dryer
We even added a room downstairs just 6 months ago!
Lessons & tips: Plan to work hard, like 70 hour weeks, and painting painting and more painting. Have a weeks supply of painting clothes...
