How to learn Latin

How I did it: I took Latin I and Latin II from a private high school. I had a good teacher the first year, and a not so good one the second, but spending enough time working with the material on my own, I managed to figure out what I need to know and grasp the grammatical concepts well enough for my purposes.
Lessons & tips: Don't try and find a shortcut - everything you learn you have to build on to understand what comes next.
Resources: The curriculum I used was from Cambridge, and their website was very helpful as well (they have some interactive activities to do along with the books).
