How I did it: I ate out less.
I bought fewer presents and rounds of drinks for people.
I kept to a budget.
I had my savings account automatically pull from my bank account.
I used the "debt snowball" method, paying off the smallest card first and further on down the line.
I read the Get Rich Slowly blog to remind myself to keep an eye on spending.
I used my debit card and cash when I needed something.
