How to make my own soap

How I did it: Working at a soap supply warehouse (brambleberry.com) definitely helps. I haven't yet attempted cold process or hot process (baby steps) but melt & pour is super fun and easy.
All I had to do was buy the soap base, fragrance, colorant and a fragrance oil. Then while I watched Grey's Anatomy and Sex & The City DVD's I melted the base (you can use a microwave but since I don't have one I used a double boiler), added my ingredients, poured in the mold and popped them out the next day!
Lessons & tips: Start off with something easy like melt & pour before moving on to something like cold process (especially since that involves using lye).
