"Eye-opening"
How I did it: Some people say to use a step approach, and do it little by little, phasing it out.
That didn't work for me. I went cold turkey and just did it. I just stopped eating junk food, and by now I can tell you pretty much all the ingredients in all of my meals without things like labels. I eat apples made of apple. I eat tuna that comes from real fish! There is no corn syrup, food die, or funky names you can't pronounce in my diet!
And you know what? I still like what I eat. I used to guzzle 48 oz. of soda a day and go through frozen meals, fast food, and bags of snack like nobody's business. But your tastebuds change. I've learned to appreciate the sweetness in vegetables, and most fruit is almost overpowering. I would have trouble drinking soda at this point, because of how unbelievably and ridiculously sweet it actually is.
You will be amazed after dropping junk food, and maybe disgusted, by what your previous, and most of the people around you's eating habits are.
