How I did it: First I researched the breed and found out that not only are bengals beautiful and exotic, but they are very intelligent and like to play in water.

I watched the local paper and searched several online bengal sites (there are many) to find an available kitten.  I found one close-by and bought it from a breeder.  The breeder told me all I needed to know about owning a bengal

Lessons & tips: Bengals are very active and need a lot of attention (they act more like dogs or people than cats).  If you want a calm cat to sit in your lap, a bengal is not for you!  Also, don't even think of letting them outside - they look like mini-tigers from the zoo, and people will snatch them right up!
