"The best way to learn about who you are is to remove yourself from your comfort zone, your home, and the people who care if you live or die, and experience the world in territory that is foreign, uncertain, and full of possibilities.
"
How I did it: I intended to move to L.A. It is a mecca for the film industry and i felt it was needed in my life experience. I was drawn there by a force I cannot describe other than to say I was meant to go there when I did. I visualized myself living and working there. My roommate at the time and I even took a week long trip to the city and surrounding cities to really get a feel for what it would be like to live there. Shortly after I returned home, I was offered a job in Beverly Hills and Anaheim with free room and board, so I took up the offer and made living there part of my experience. What followed was 2 of the most growth-filled years of my life. I went from being a not-so-sure-of-myself 22 year old to being a confident, positive, adult 24 year old. I learned about what I want and don't want in many aspects of my life. I learned about the power of positive thinking, I learned how to make a buck and how to stretch a buck, I learned how to survive on my own and many other countless lessons that are irreplaceable and priceless.
Lessons & tips: Try something that scares you. It was terrifying to think that moving thousands of miles away from home on your own without a soul around that knows you and no place that feels like a soft place to fall would be a good idea, but it changed me for the better and it made me a higher version of myself. It was a period of soul searching which we all must do in our own time, in our own way. If you feel that inner tug, do it. Go for it. Do whatever it is you see the highest version of yourself doing. Follow your intuition. These tools will never lead you astray. Find the silver lining on every storm cloud. Find the beauty all around you no matter where the road takes you. If you want to live somewhere then really LIVE it. Experience it. You will thank yourself.
Resources: Craigslist helped me get the job which provided me with an initial means to move there. Desire and Choice of my own manifestation played a part as well.
