How I did it: I pretty much just stopped playing world of warcraft! =)

Got out of the house more, learned to call people instead of just waiting for people to call you. Planning events for others to join, instead of just waiting around for an invitation...

I used to play WoW – and when I quit, the world just opened up again!! :)

...unfortunately my boyfriend has not quit. Neither have his two flatmates. Its like a WoW crackhouse at their place!
