How to speak French fluently by petitevoix

How I did it: I took French all through high school and even quite a bit in college.  That gave me the basic vocabulary and verb tense understanding I needed.  But what really did it was actually going to France.  I had the opportunity to do a summer trip for language credit at my university.  What made the biggest impact was I chose not to hang out w/ the other americans.  They all spoke English w/ each other while not in class.  I spent my time with the french students at the university or the students from other countries in my class.  It forced me to speak nothing but French for the entire trip. 

Lessons & tips: Don't be ashamed about practising.  You may feel silly at first, but it's absolutely necessary to learn.

French Radio

This is the site I go to most frequently:

If you go here, there is a whole list of regional radio stations you can stream online. The column on the Right will give you more info about each station. I like to listen to the news here because it challenges me to keep up with a fluent speaker, and I’m getting world news at the same time (if I can keep up.) :)
