How to go camping
How I did it: A friend and I packed our bags, threw everything we thought we might need into the back of my car, and drove up to northern michigan. Lake Michigan is beautiful during the summer - I definitely recommend it! We stayed at a state park near the sand dunes right on the lake - it was gorgeous. Despite the challenges you'd assume two blonds with no prior camping experience might face (i.e. putting up a tent, starting a fire, etc.), it was a blast! We spent the day at the beach, canoeing, hiking the sand dunes, and just relaxing in the tent. I willvdefinitely go more often!
Lessons & tips: Have fun, be prepared for any sort of weather, and bring stuff to keep you entertained like cards or magazines. I was shocked by how cold it got at night (although I was warned) so definitely bring extra blankets, socks, sweaters, etc. if youre camping in the north.
