How to see the pyramids in Egypt
How I did it: After scrimping and saving I went with a group of my peers, from my college, on a two week trip to Egypt. This trip focused on visiting the historical landmarks of Egypt, in Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. During our visit to the pyramids many of us chose to ride camels around them.
Lessons & tips: If you plan on riding a camel around the pyramids our tour guide suggested tipping the camel driver 5 Egyptian pounds, and no more! Be careful if they ask you for American money, because American money is worth more than Egyptian pounds. My driver tried to trick me into giving him American. Also women, be wary of your driver taking you too far from your group.Obviously, my group had a little bit of trouble with our camel drivers, one person had his ring stolen, and another got conned out of a lot of money. But, that's not to say that will happen to everyone. I still think it was totally worth it.
Resources: A good tour guide, who helped get our conned money back, and the stolen ring.
SUNSCREEN
WATER ( but be careful of drinking it too fast. I did and I almost had an accident on the way to the pyramids-although its become a funny story now)
A hat
