How to go to church
"I started attending a Unitarian Universalist church, and found myself actually enjoying it and looking forward to Sunday services--something I had never experienced in many years of going to Catholic masses. "
How I did it: My husband and I (both raised Catholic, but not practicing) had talked about going to a local Unitarian fellowship for years, but never motivated ourselves to actually go. This past November, we had a long discussion about what we wanted to teach our children--the values and ethics that are most important to us--and we decided to give the Unitarian church a try. So far, we have really enjoyed every service. The sermons have been interesting and right in line with our worldview. We have met some interesting and open-minded people who share our approach to politics and social issues, and we're starting to get more involved with the fellowship, including bringing our children to Christmas Eve services.
