How to get into nursing school
How I did it: School has to be your life in order to get the grades you need to get into nursing school! You have to do well in Anatomy and Physiology b/c you will be using what you learned for your whole career and a lot of what you learn in NS goes back to those classes. It can't be that you get an 'A' and call it good. You have to know and understand how the body works. I also worked as a CNA and althought you don't need it to get into school it really helps! The instructors know that you're already starting to "think like a nurse" and when you get to clinicals you can tell who has had experience as a CNA and who hasn't. And what I said is true about teachers treating you like your a kid. I'm 30, I worked two jobs (before nursing school) for many years, have been on my own since I was 17, I don't need anyone watching my every move! And I'm not talking about medical stuff (which I totally have no probelm with instructors watching like a hawk), but asking to see a rough draft for a 20 pt. paper that's due in two weeks for a class that the instructor isn't even teaching is too much oversite.
