How to get a tattoo
How I did it: Thought long and hard about what I wanted before I got each of my tattoos - drew them out, added and subtracted details, and waited for them to tell me where on my body they wanted to be. On my first two, I went to a guy I heard about, but for my latest and biggest piece of art, I went to a convention to watch the artists work. I picked a real pro artist and got a great piece of work as a result.
Lessons & tips: Get your 1st one in a place you can cover. If you regret it, it won't be as bad. Trust me when I tell you that laser removal hurts a million times worse than getting the tattoo, so be really sure you want it. And never, ever get a name tattooed unless it's your child or parent. Call me superstitious, but everyone I have ever known who had their sig other's name tattooed on them later broke up or divorced.
Resources: Tattoo conventions and asking people who have great tattoos where they got them and why.
