How to make my own Christmas gifts
How I did it: For this Christmas I spent half my time in the kitchen, making all kinds of treats. The other half of the time I spent making and decorating cardboard boxes to hold all these delectable goodies.
I could only supply the effort of individual gift boxes to a select few. However this didn't stop me from making more than enough treats and filling up the tupperware for my colleagues at work.
People really love the effort too. I really enjoyed being creative and think it was truly appreciated by all.
Lessons & tips: Not everyone likes coconut - pretty obvious really. Take into consideration the different tastes of people you are making gifts for (I almost oopsed this one)
Teachers already have too much chocolate, give them something that kids parents won't find unless they up the ante and visit a specialist bakery.
Start early. I had to make 30 gift boxes and enough treats to fill about 60 of them in three weeks. At the same time I had to work a full day at the offiec and fit in my own training. I'm already starting to prepare for next year
Resources: For easy to make snacks and treats dig out some old kids recipe books. They are usually filled with really easy recipes (if a 8 year old can do it, so can you).
