How I did it: I have a small container garden out on my patio with tomato plants, basil, catnip, oregano, and sage. It's a miracle that it survived the Texas summer!

to raise things and then EAT them? congrats. [not to overwhelm, but take a look at a permaculture book (i like ‘gaia’s garden’) as it may help you with the whole texas/heat thing.] :)
