How to make at least one person smile everyday
How I did it: As I have been here on 43 things, I did a lot of goals related to my personality, to file off the rough edges so to speak; goals such as.
"Be gracious"
"Be a better friend"
"Return calls promptly"
"Don't blurt things out"
"Marriage enrichment"
"listen better"
"Practice the Four Agreements & Dale Carnegie books."
"don't give advice" (especially unsolicited)
Doing these things naturally made me a better person, and it was easier to be around me. I'm getting more phone calls and invites because I'm paying attention to what I say, do, act, and feel. It's paid off rather quickly, and as I work even more on those goals, I would think perhaps I'll make even more folks smile. That's why I'm listing this goal as "Done" even tho I'm not exactly trying to stop it: I just think it will naturally happen now like a good habit.
And I will probably find even more things to do for this, as this is a resourceful and insightful community. I love checking out other peoples' goals.
Lessons & tips: Look around at the goals here on 43 Things to see things that maybe you maybe didn't think of but might be useful for your own growth. If someone cheers you, go look at their list, you might find a goal there that can help you as you probably have things in common already.
And if you already know something about yourself you would like to change, then list it and get started!
Resources: Good ol' 43 things.
