How to give birth
"Painful as hell but truly worth every excruciating second, the moment I saw my daughter."
How I did it: Lots and lots of drugs! Stadol twice to get me through a night of slow dilation (I was induced with Cervidil), an epidural that eased the pain of contractions and then took them away completely (not a good thing, believe me).
Lessons & tips: Sorry, the breathing techniques went out the window when my contractions stopped and my doctor performed the episiotomy... You're on your own as far as technique.
Resources: The epidural helped so much my contractions stopped. Blegh. I was induced, so I guess I have Cervidil and Pitocin to thank for helping things along (at least, until the end, when I was doing all the work, myself)...
