How to revamp my goals for 2009
How I did it: Firstly, I organised my list a bit better - it's now got "life goals" (like backpack through Europe, make a living from my creativity, etc.) grouped together, "ongoing" goals (get really good at origami, learn to paraglide, become fluent or semi-fluent in Mandarin, etc.) grouped together and "one-offs" (make love in the rain, build a fort in my living room, etc.) grouped together.
I also cleared out the goals that were unrealistic, that I don't particularly want to do any more, or that didn't really benefit me by doing them.
I also completed some of the easier ones that were previously uncompleted not because they were time consuming but just because I hadn't got round to it.
I've also found that by going through the list and paying more attention to what's actually on it (instead of just skimming down the page as I usually do), I've made quite a bit more progress with my "ongoing" goals. There's not much amongst those ones (paragliding, BSL, Chinese, origami, juggling, growing bonsai from seed and some others) that I haven't started to some degree.
I now have a more organised list, with about 25 things on, rather than 35 (which is shockingly close to the 43 limit! ; ) )
Lessons & tips: Be ruthless! Make sure you have a proper clear-out, not just delete one or two things.
Reordering your list might help you to see things in a different way too.
