How to switch to the paleo diet
"I simply feel more alive on paleo."
How I did it: I started by reading some articles on the net. I got interested enough to order the book also. The diet is quite simple: just leave out some specific stuff and include more vegatables to get enough calories.
The harder part was finding good recipes and making my own food quickly in daily basis. After about two weeks I had developed "standard meals" that I could cook quickly. I am also eating in staff canteen "90% paleo" that seems to work well for me.
Lessons & tips:
- Google paleo diet
- Read some of the basic articles (start with http://www.earth360.com/diet_paleodiet_balzer.html)
- Leave out dairy, grains, rice, potatoes, candy, coffee/tea, alcohol
- Instead of rice/potatoes/pasta use steamed vegatables
- Eat lots of fruits, berries and lean meat (cut away the fat)
- I think reading the book is a very good idea, but not necessary (http://www.thepaleodiet.com/)
