How to speak fluent spanish
How I did it: My sister started learning Spanish first, and she would teach me as she learned. I picked up the basics that way, then decided to try for Spanish classes. In December 2008 I spent 2 weeks in Mexico visiting my sister, who now lives there, and was able to understand and speak with complete ease.
Lessons & tips: Interact with Spanish speakers as much as you can. Latinos are generally friendly and very appreciative when people speak to them in their language, and it's the best way to learn new words and practice speaking comfortably.
Resources: Penn State University's Spanish 100 course was the perfect polisher for my Spanish. I'd recommend it to anyone.
