How to listen to the new Animal Collective album
How I did it: I called up my favorite local indie record store, Slowtrain in SLC, and asked if they had any copies. After work I drove over there and bought it before I went home. Then I high-centered my Pontiac Vibe on the snow just trying to drive down my street, and my wife and I had to spend a good hour or two shoveling just to get our cars in the driveways and us into our house. So I didn't listen to it until the next day. Having a nice turntable helped, as this album doesn't come out on CD for another two weeks or something like that.
Lessons & tips: Don't download it illegally instead of buying the album. Go 180 gram vinyl or go home.
Don't bend the corner of the record sleeve when you are climbing over the ice in the snowstorm to carry it into your house, like I did.
