How to stop biting my lip
How I did it: Well, first I put some lotion on my lips which had warnings all over it saying it was for external use only. You'd be amazed at how easily you drop a habit when you convince yourself that you could poison yourself if you do it. (And yes, I did bite my lips during this part... once. It made me really sick. I didn't do it again.)
Then, I was on post-op pain medications (yay for wisdom teeth) for a week, which helped a lot because I was preoccupied with reaching out to my friends.
Then, I started putting chapstick on my lips every time I got the urge to bite them.
It's been about two weeks, and my lips are finally almost completely healed. They're a little scarred from the literally YEARS of biting them, but they look so beautiful already. It's kind of weird... I didn't think it would make that big of a difference in my appearance, but it does.
Lessons & tips: Use a body lotion on them, preferably one which is kind of sticky, tastes disgusting, and warns you not to eat it. The fear helps. You might get nauseaus or puke if you actually swallow some of it, but then you'll be even more against biting your lips.
Use chapstick if you ever get the urge to do it again.
Also:: Your lips might peel. Resist the temptation to bite them! Just slide your finger across them, apply more chapstick, and repeat as necessary.
