How to get contact lenses
How I did it: I have profound astigmatism, and I had always been unsure whether contact lenses would work for me. But I asked about them when I went to the eye doctor this time, and I'm glad I did.
Lessons & tips: My eye doctor recommended gas permeable lenses, because they are apparently the best for people with astigmatism. The only real problem I had was that it took me a LONG time to get used to them. At first they drove me crazy. They gave me motion sickness and I thought they were the wrong prescription because I couldn't see properly at all. The doctor said it would be about 2 weeks before they felt completely comfortable. It took me about a month. So if you have new gas permeable lenses and you're wondering if you will ever get used to them, it's worth it to stick it out even if it takes longer than expected.
