How I did it: One of my best friends took me to a tat shop last weekend to get my belly button pierced as a belated-Christmas treat (she's been on vacation). Anyway, I was super-excited, the piercer was friendly, sterile, yada yada.
I try to keep a "mind over matter" attitude when it comes to physical pain, and pain I'm expecting (like, say, a needle through my belly) is usually easier for me to bear. But, I kid you not... I was NOT expecting the piercing to feel the way it did! Painful, yes. The needle felt so disgusting going upward inside my skin, if my friends hadn't been there I may have let some noise out. Lol. But supposedly I did yell out something very profain afterward! (the headline to this entry) *wink!* Fast-forward 10 minutes, my lovely piercing w/ a pink shimmery barbell was love at first sight!! :)
Resources: My friends' support while I laid back in the chair :) Oh, that and... a little smoke before the piercing... if you know what I mean ;) *no shame*

The pain last time was unbearable. The first time was in my lunch break from work & was painless & infection free. 2nd time I got infected.
