How to control my temper
How I did it: got back to basics. thought of myself as an I, not an "us" and realized this was a change I wanted to make for myself, not because it would relieve the fighting in a relationship or otherwise. I was sick of getting so angry over nothing, and wasting so much time!!
Lessons & tips: no one method is going to help you overcome anger every time. You will slip up, you will feel like you can't do it. But, you can. Its as simple as recognizing when you are starting to get worked up, and stopping it there. don't bottle up all those anger emotions, that will ONLY make it worse...they have to come out sometime. and its usually in an explosion. TALK. talk through things. the first few times you're trying to overcome this, try telling your partner//friend//whoever made you mad: "this is hard for me, but i'm going to try my best to remain calm...i need you to listen and not interrupt. im really trying here" obviously you can't monopolize the conversation forever, but if it'll help you get closer to not having outbursts, im sure anyone who knows you will oblige.
