How to exercise 3X a week
How I did it: We have to take into account that we're all very busy and have more than enough things on our minds so adding exercise each day can get overwheliming and inevitably we fail. The trick is to start small, like exercising once a week and then slowly build it up. So the following week exercise twice a week. Give yourself credit for it, reward yourself. At first it takes a little bit of discipline, but you will start to see results so fast, you will feel so good that you'll want to do more of it.
Lessons & tips: If you've never exercised, start with once a week and make it easy and then slowly build it up. Make sure you plan it, so you can't say that you didn't have time b/c this forces you to make time. And come up with reasons why you want to exercise, so when doubt creeps in, you have a lot bigger list of reasons why to do it than not to do it.
Resources: I like to do a variety of things and this allows me to adjust. For example if the weather is really bad, insteaed of going running, I'll pop in a DVD of yoga or pilates. Having DVD's is also really heplful when you're short on time and you cannot make it to the gym. Some DVD's are as short as 20 mins. Now who can't fit in 20 mins?
