How to remove my phony facebook friends

How I did it: facebook doesn't have to be a mindless time vacuum. just before i added this to my list i found myself becoming increasingly voyeuristic, suddenly interested in the lives of these 'friends' i hadn't had anything to do with since school. who wants to waste time on that? not me.
i flicked everyone who'd added me that i hadn't seen since school, i hadn't spoken to on facebook, or whose status updates, groups and fan pages made me feel sure i didn't need their face in my face.
now it's more about occasionally, and conveniently, keeping in touch with long-distance friends and family who i otherwise wouldn't hear so much about, or see so much of (well, in photos.)
