How to live in a foreign country

"I lived in England because my first husband was in the Air Force, and I didn't want to leave at the end of his 4 year tour."
How I did it: I married a guy in the Air Force! It helped that his mother was a WW II war bride, and her family was still over there. It meant I got off the base regularly, and got to see the "real" England, as opposed to just US Air Force life.
