How to start a blog
How I did it: I learned about using blogging in the classroom for a technology class. I am studying to be an art teacher and the course recommends using digital technology to have kids post online portfolios. Blogs work in ways that allow kids to post their progress, thoughts, and read thoughts and comments from not only their family and peers, but people around the world. I started a blog about blogging for my technology class, I have a blog for a student group I am in that talks about our meetings and goals, and I also started a personal blog about going through a breakup. Unfortunately for me, that one has flatlined and has NO readership, but I try to post nearly every day.
Lessons & tips: Make sure you blog about something you are interested in and you can stay motivated to keep up on. A readership will come only if you're enthusiastic and care. Try to not blog about your own life - blogging isn't necessarily a diary. Although I can't be hypocritical, a breakup blog has helped me to clear my thoughts.
