How to buy a House
It made me 
"Buying a house was the single best thing I could have done to improve my life at this stage in my life."
How I did it: My spouse and I saved money for about a year and nine months, then it took us four months to find the right house (and one that wasn't taken off the market when we were about to make an offer). It took us four more months to get the offer hammered out and have our closing. It was a very stressful time, but so worth it. Our apartment was literally making me sick and it was so crowded with all of the stuff we've accumulated over the years. Our house has a lot more space, so everything has a place. It's a lot of work to maintain, of course, but there's so much pride in homeownership.
