How to stop drinking pop
How I did it: "Cold Turkey" as they say.
A little over a week ago I decided I was going to quit drinking alcohol. I was also addicted to pop that I'd mix with it. Finally I got tired of drinking both and decided I"m going to stop. Every time I had a craving for pop or alcohol I just told myself "NO!" and poured a glass of juice instead. This got rid of the cravings for me and now I'm drinking more water than juice as well.
I don't want to think about going back to pop or alcohol because now the thought just seems disgusting to me.
Lessons & tips: Self control is key. It can be difficult but remember you want to quit something and you won't get anywhere by giving into those cravings. Replacing pop with juice or water also helped me with the mental addiction I had of drinking something sweet.
Another tip is tell your friends and family that you're quitting. Hopefully they should respect your decision, and if they know you're quitting you might be more inclined to drink something else when around them.
