How I did it: I broke it off with a hammer, after having a few drinks with some buddies at the barracks, we decided to go down to the wall and get a piece. It was one week after the wall fell and at that time off limits to us. We got down there and spoke with an East German guard who was standing on the other side of the wall, (there were holes all over at this time) we gave him a beer and spoke in our broken German to him.
