How to stop biting my nails
How I did it: Truthfully, I still bite my nails from time to time. But I've come to understand why I do it. For me, it's a combination of stress and mild OCD. Over the years, as I was trying different things to curb the habit, I discovered that it hardly mattered what tricks I played with myself. The times I stopped biting were the times I felt relaxed.
I also have a suspicion that healthy eating and exercise have a positive effect on my nails. It could be related to stress releif, but I think when you focus on getting your body functioning well in general, you'll find unexpected benefits.
Lessons & tips: The best way I've found to prevent it is to actively pursue healthy
stress relief, and to keep my nails neatly trimmed and *hydrated*--I
cannot emphasize that enough. Manicures are worth the money, or, if you
want to do it yourself, it's worth the time and effort. Use hand
lotion regularly, use cuticle cream and strengthening polish. Take
care of yourself!!
