How I did it: I go somewhere different every year for New Year's Eve, and I decided on Las Vegas for NYE 09. I rallied my friends, planned out everything, and just went.
Lessons & tips: You don't have to stay on the Strip, but I'd recommend trying it once.
If you're going for New Year's Eve, stay at the hotel that has the club you want to party in. Public transportation is godawful on New Year's Eve.
