How to go to vegas
How I did it: Over the holidays in 2008, I took my family to Vegas, parts of NV, Hoover Dam, and parts of CA. It was so much fun. My favorite part was the Hoover Dam. It was well worth the approximatly $30 we spent there for parking and the tour.
Vegas was pretty fun. We had a bad experience with Circus Circus where we stayed because it was like they wanted to nickle and dime you to death. The rooms were fairly priced as long as it wasn't getting close to new years.
We only gambled in the airport because we had my 13 month baby boy with us. So, we had to take turns watching him and playing slots. I came out about $4.50 ahead after some gambling.
Lessons & tips:
- Really shop around for your hotel because some include things that others don't in the price.
- Flying into Vegas is cheaper than most of the large surrounding cities. If you don't mind driving, fly to Vegas, get a rental car, and drive to your final destination so you can get some Vegas into your trip.
Resources: They have a website where you can learn about it. We mostly just found it on the map and drove there. It was easy to find. We just found a place to park and walked accross the Dam and followed the signs to the tour.
