How to get a tattoo by kkheart

How I did it: I have done it twice so far and both times, I had friends recomend a place. I looked up their websites and made sure I liked their work. Both times I had an idea, that I couldn't get out of my head. So I went to the tattoo parlor with friends and went for it.

Lessons & tips: Wait until you've thought long and hard about it. If something is in your head for awhile, got for it. Don't do it on a fling.

Resources: Look up artists websites or myspaces to look at their work and make sure you would be happy with their style.

OK, this may sound weird

...because I have no tattoo. But the way I understand it, a tattoo (at least to me) is a very personal experience. I have friends and family that have tattoos and the didn’t do it until they were ready. Some were about 21 some in their 50s. I’m 46 and still thinking. But you know what? I want to work on a PhD and if I ever get a PhD, that will be an important milestone that will more than likely be celebrated with a carefully thought out meaningful “anthropological” (what I want my PhD in) themed tattoo. I can’t comment on the pain, but don’t do it until your ready.

Again, I’m no expert, so if my advice is meaningful, take it. If not, leave it. Good luck!
