Lisa Barker keep positive!
Hi There
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I’m glad that you have such a positive outlook…with attitude..onwards and upwards is what I say!
Wishing you well x
How I did it: It’s not something I had really considered a lot, even when my nephew had leukemia, i thought it was admirable when i heard his brother had donated bone marrow to help him survive. A couple years later I went to watch a film ‘Seven Pounds’ the impact it had on me felt like I had broken my heart. Some of the story had similarities to my own personal journey. My fiance had watched the movie with me but didn’t seem to be too phased by it..how little did I know! A few days later I saw a magazine next to the laptop promoting organ doner registration, I discovered he had signed up! That same feeling rose and I thought about what a decent human being he was and I was such a wimp! I put it all into perspective and he stood beside me as I registered. I felt so proud of myself all day!
I infomed my family and it appears to have had a positive impact on them too.
I have no inhibitions about it at all now, and it has motivated me to plan ahead.
Lessons & tips: Discuss it with a loved one, don't allow other peoples judgment to cloud yours some people can have limited beliefs or be very squemish about such things and remember that you are helping others to survive is there a better gift than that?
Resources: I read an article in a magazine and researched on the internet. I registered on line.
