How to get a tattoo
How I did it: I forgot when I had added the " I would like to get a tattoo" forum, but I'm sure its been at least 2 years ago. I finally picked out what I wanted and just got my tattoo done a few months ago. Kinda spontaneously! Once I finally got my idea down, I had been looking around for a popular tattoo shop or of any well known tattoo artist. Out of the blue, I remember my friend introducing me to one of her friends. He has been a tattoo artist for a couple of years now. I checked out his art work and the price he offered was a super good deal, so instantly I agreed.
As for my tattoo. I ended up getting a Latin phrase. "Alis Volat Propriis". This phrase stuck with me for a long while, and it definitely has a strong meaning that really relates to me. Translation of this phrase: She flies with her own wings. This tattoo is placed on my left torso curving along my left breast.
It starts of lining up at the bottom left edge [if you were facing me] and it's curved until it hits the opposite bottom sides, then it just curves straight out.
I don't know if that's a good description of it at all, but that's as a good as I can explain!
I picked that spot, because it's unique to me. I've never seen/heard people with a tattoo located in that spot. It also doesn't show much at all. I made it like that, because this tattoo is a reminder to myself that I will always be flying with my owns. I always have and always will. I guess it's my way of saying that I'm independent. I live up to it, so that's why this tattoo is very significant to me.
There are no designed on it, it's simple. I tried taking a picture of it myself, but unfortunately I failed. It's rather difficult trying to take this picture on my own.
I shall have someone take it for me and I will post it up when I do get a chance.
Lessons & tips:
- You'll need their hand.
- Heard you could pass out if you do it on an empty stomach.
Resources: As for products, my tattoo artist gave me an oinment and instructed me on how & when to apply it.
As your tattoo artist for that kind of information, but I'm almost very positive that he/she will explain the after care once youre all done.
