How I did it: TIme, money, sweat, dirt, muscles, take your pick, from removing the old window to widening the opening and hanging a new header. Lifting the door into place twice, a dry fit then after setting up the weatherproofing on the sil and then finally placing it. Drywalling back in the framework and painting it. Cutting the moulding and casing it all in. I'm no Bob Vila and am an inspiring TIm the Tool Man Taylor, mostly because I'm buying to tools to do the job and have them for future projects. I learned much and realized that there is an art and skill for the people who do this professionally. I'm glad I did it even though durring the project I questioned my sanity more than once.

Lessons & tips: Read up on this on the net. Lots of good sites, even on Youtube where some installers have posted their videos. If you have never tackled this kind of structural project prepare your self and be ready to have a big hole in the side of your house for a solid day, more if problems arise.
