How to decide
"Sometimes time just runs out."
How I did it: Well, I made lists. Several of them. All in different formats for lists. Paragraphs, tables of pros and cons, gains, losses, emotions, quantitative, qualitative. And through all of this it became clear where my desires were. Not that I didn't have any in the other direction but I could tell there was a stronger pull to keep me here and that ultimately made my mind up.
Also talking to people helped. It's interesting to hear people you respect responding to the blathering that is going on inside your head. When they tell you "it sounds like you've already made up your mind," it makes you think that maybe you have. I guess it's just hard to let a possibility go sometimes.
Lessons & tips: Talk to people. Think about it, too much even if you have to. But at some point it's time to just flip a coin because it may never happen.
Resources: paper and pencil.
my favorite list I made was divided into four sections, with my two options (going and staying) and what I would gain and lose if I made each decision. You then just have to decide what these things are worth to you.
I also like just train of thought paragraph deliberation. And the more arrows and side notes you make, I feel like the better.
Also, my good friends and my sister especially. People who know you and can understand where you're coming from and want you to be happy. Just talk through it and see how they respond and how you respond to their response.
And, maybe a quarter.
