How I did it: A night of following turbo tax step by step through the number dungeons. Their searchable help features really came in hand. Especially when dealing with strange things like multiple state incomes and art sales.

I was surprised to find out that we made $13k more than we did last year. Our rent was a little higher on the west coast, but where did it all go...? I am thrilled at our nice chunk of refund and looking forward to putting a good dent in the credit card bills.
