How to do more art
How I did it: I had noticed that something horrible was happening: I was getting so concerned with school and such that I hadn't been drawing near as much as I was supposed to. Now, I'm the type that if I don't draw, my mental health will wane... a lot. And during that dry period my pictures got worse and worse. Nothing came out right and everything was disproportional. So I went out and got a sketch book plus some canvas paper and watercolor paper. Now I am making sure I sketch on at least one page of my sketchbook a day (front=one page, back=one page)l, doing gestural drawing, contour, an anatomy study, and drawing from life. I also intend on painting since that's not a medium I typically work with so I intend on learning ow to use it.
Lessons & tips: -Sketch... everyday. :3 You have more spare time than you think.
-Realize your time limits. If you really are loading yourself down, take a few things out from your schedule.
-Try a medium don't normally use. I'm currently working more with coloured pencils as well, getting away from my usual high-contrast black and white ink drawings. I've found that it's actually really fun and fairly easy. You may be suprised at what opther media you'll be good at.
-Practice, practice, PRACTICE! Even if you try ou a new medium and you're not so good, practice it more!
-Search on the internet or in your library for sources on working with media you're not familiar with or trying other techniques.
-DON'T GIVE UP!!! Unless, of course, youare finding that art really is not your thing at ALL, but if you're doing this goal, it probably is ;)
