How I did it: I went to a ski lodge in vermont and took lessons! The instructors there were really fabulous and helpful and it was a really great price. $179 for four lessons, two days of rentals, and a lift tickets for the lower lifts (since you won't be needing upper lift tickets if you're just learning!)

Lessons & tips: It's all about balance and not rushing into it too fast.
