How to get my own place by megsauce

"Since moving out, I've learned so much about myself and experienced so much more, it has made me learn what it is to be an adult."

How I did it: I started saving money by getting a job during my senior year of highschool, found a place/roomates, and as soon as I turned 18 I left home. It was a lot of work and has been very difficult but also very rewarding.

Lessons & tips: Just save as much money as you possibly can before moving out.  You don't realize how much stuff you actually need other than food.

Thank you for sharing your story with the world. It is encouraging to me b/c I am 20 and want to find a place of my own. If you could do it right after high school than I know I can make it happen also.
