How to get promoted
"Well worth it, but the journey has just started."
How I did it: I came to work on time and made sure that I did everything that was expected of me and more! I performed better than what my peers would consider as the best and took the time to be careful not to step on any toes!
I was a middle manager in our organization and at first a promotion seems to be out of reach as there's just too many people aiming for the same job openings within the company. But I decided that I do not need think about what other people's goals are, I just have to focus on mine and ways on how I can be a better employee.
I took the time to learn about all the things my job demands and how I could efficiently deliver them -- without burning out in the process. I identified the resources that I need and found ways on how I can secure them. I used my resources sparingly to make sure that I have enough that last bolt to the finish line. And once I reached the goal, I made sure to acknowledge everyone and everything that helped me get there.
Lessons & tips: Keep your focus and don't waste your time on people who tell you that you cannot do it. You really don't have any time to convince them. The only person that you need to convince that your goal is achievable is YOURSELF.
