How to become a photographer
How I did it: I applied, I got the job and I had my own studio! I unfortunately quit after a year. I decided to pursue medical anthropology, sill me, huh? Education? HA! While I love photography, I can only keep it as a hobby. Being a full time photographer is a hard life, you never really know where you'll be. While some people do thrive as a photographer, they put a lot of blood, sweat and tear into their work, I cheer them all and look up to each and every one of them. I however, need to know where I'll be in the next 20 years.
Lessons & tips: It varies from person to person. If you like bouncing around and not being in one place, go for it. If you can handle not having anything set in stone. If you need to know where you'll be in the future, keep it as a side project. I am not saying this goes to everyone, but it certainly applies to me.
Resources: well, having the Academy of Art University on my resume certainly helped. But I also love children and I worked with them a lot in the studio. I have 6 siblings, I know how to handle 'em. Also, I had a great mentor.
