Compassion
I love that you say it is our human nature to be compassionate. That is so beautiful. I’d much rather think that about people than “the alternative.”
How I did it: Someone wronged me badly. I forgave because it is in our human nature to be compassionate. At the time I felt that my forgiveness would not be appreciated, but I knew that it was the right thing to do.
Later the person admitted to me that they were very sorry, and for years they had much regret in regard to their behavior. I imagined....what if I had been rude, or mean or spiteful? I am proud that I forgave and now we are friends and have put the past behind us.
Lessons & tips: If you're not ready to forgive them, forgive for yourself. You will be doing yourself a favor. Then let it go.
Resources: The Dalai Lama (who has many books). LOVE LOVE LOVE Everyone!
