How to go to a football match
How I did it: By sheer coincidence, my University is celebrating 800 years of existence, and was 'given' an entire stand full of seats to sell v cheap to staff for a match (Cambridge United vs Oxford United). Someone at work organised a bunch of us to go - and it was brilliant! I still don't understand football, like football or feel that it is a useful activity in any way - but joining your voice to thousands of others in screaming about a bad referee descision was amazing..glad I did it!
Lessons & tips: A. Do it, you will enjoy it (the difference between football on the TV and in real life is..well, they are nothing alike)
B. look up a local, non 'big-time' team and attend one event.
C. wrap up warm, take a flask of hot drink (in winter)
D. let yourself go!!!
